Coquitlam 4 is our 8x8 Argo Avenger ATV Vehicle. With this vehicle Coquitlam SAR is now able to respond via deactivated logging roads to the top of Eagle mountain in under 20 minutes with four SAR members and full rescue gear, delivering them into the field fresh instead of having to hike up from the Halvor Lunden Trail.

First put into service in 2006, the Argo has been used on several searches in the Coquitlam area, and has appeared with the team in certain well-known local parades. Easily the team's favorite vehicle, it has made tricky off-road access problems much simpler due to it's ease of use.

On one memorable search in the Widgeon Slough area, searchers approached the injured person's location via 4 wheel drive, boat, helicopter and by using the Argo. Medical emergencies in these remote and hard to access area require us to every means possible to access the patient.This subject was reached in under an hour by searchers on foot who had been driven close to the scene via the Argo.
