The team is involved in between 40 and 60 tasks per year, from lost hikers on Eagle Ridge to missing skiiers on the North Shore. We're called to assist other teams in the Province, and sometimes in Washington State. This is a log of tasks the team has been involed in.

Coquitlam search and Rescue was called to search for one missing hiker in the Widgeon Falls area on Monday in a frustrating search that suffered from incomplete and perhaps even false information.

The team was called at 5:30PM to look for a missing hiker, and was told that the subject's hiking partner was the person who reported them missing. However, when the team landed at the Widgeon Slough campground, the person was not to be found. When they could not be located at the Grant Narrows area (where canoeists usually put in for the trip to the Widgeon Area), it was decided to treat both hikers as missing, and to carry on the search until they could be located.

Coquitlam SAR assists with operation in Maple Ridge

Coquitlam Search and Rescue was called to assist Ridge Meadows SAR at 4:00AM on Wednesday, June 13th in the search for a missing 17 year old woman in the Mike Lake area of Golden Ears Provincial Park near Maple Ridge, British Columbia. The woman and her two dogs were reported missing in the early evening on June 12th when she used her cell phone to call for help. This launched a SAR operation that ended into the late afternoon the next day.

Missing 18 year old in Burnaby

Bryan Braumberger On Monday, Coquitlam Search and Rescue was contacted by the Burnaby RCMP to assist in the search for a missing 18 year old from Burnaby. Don Seki, the manager for the search said, "The RCMP contacted us in relation to the missing 18 year old Bryan Braumberger. They had a large wooded area that they needed searched. The area is located between where Bryan's car was found and his home. The thought is he could have fallen and hurt himself in that area."

Mother's day search for father and son

Coquitlam SAR was paged at approximately 5:30 PM on Sunday May 13th (Mother's Day) to search for a missing father and son mountain biking in the Woodland's Walk area on Burke Mountain. 22 members responded, including many who were due in Chilliwack the following day for a week long flood rescue training course. The team had cell phone contact with the subjects, which was of limited use since they did not know where they were.
