Adventure Skills Challenge Week 2
After much deliberation we are excited to announce the results of the second week’s Adventure Skills Challenge (GPS Doodle Art). Congratulations to the winners,
DIRECTIONALLY CHALLENGED
There was a great selection of GPS art, and lots of really creative and imaginative entries. From the “drawings” it was obvious that many teams had carefully planned out their routes beforehand, which was definitely the way to go with this one.
Our judging was based on creativity, artistry and effort (planning and distance covered). Because the exercise deliverables were working KML or KMZ files, teams that were able to supply those also were scored higher. These file types are amongst the most widely used in GPS devices and navigation apps, and understanding their use is important when using these devices. Most teams did a really good job cleaning up their tracks to improve the appeal of their artwork. Great job!
Here are some of the excellent entries we received this week.
Below is the scoring table for this challenge and the overall standings after this second round. It’s a tight race at the top!
Once again we have lots of fabulous prizes for this week’s winners. Prizes will be awarded at two upcoming Community Events (Scotfest and Golden Spike Days) or by arrangement afterwards.
This week’s prizes are: (a big thank you to this week’s sponsors)
- Four 2-hour kayak rentals from Rocky Point Kayak
- A variety of gaming vouchers from Electronic Arts
- Tri-Cities Map from Canadian Map Makers
- Golden Ears Map from Canadian Map Makers
- Four 3-month Subscriptions to Overdue
Good luck with the next round!
