Adventure Challenge Week 4
Congratulations to the Week Four Adventure Skills Challenge Winners (Near Miss Story):
THE TRAIL HEADS
Our panel of three judges thoroughly enjoyed going through all of your video submissions. There were many excellent videos with great “near miss” stories, and many of these were produced in a very professional manner. The competition for the top spot was intense, with the original judging adjudicating a dead heat between The Queen Bees and The Trail Heads. We put it out to the team for a tie breaker and The Trail Heads just came out on top with 2 more votes!
Below is the scoring table for this challenge and the overall standings after the fourth round. There are still quite a few teams in contention for the overall championship!
The near miss stories submitted were surprisingly diverse in nature. Everything from being cut off by the tide, bad choices of hiking companions, overconfidence on solo hikes and logistical errors on longer trips. The key point with most of these is that better preparation and better decision making would have made a big difference. We hope to share some of these videos (with permission) over coming months as “learning experiences”.
Once again we have lots of fabulous prizes for this week’s winners. Prizes will be awarded at Golden Spike Days or by arrangement afterwards.
