Coquitlam SAR members found a Christmas gift in our stocking this week with the arrival of our newest piece of equipment: A new Honda Pioneer 1000-5 Side-by-side UTV (Utility Task Vehicle).

Coquitlam SAR is very happy to announce that Emergency Management British Columbia has agreed to support our proposed pilot program to use Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs or “drones”) for Search and Rescue.
Coquitlam Search & Rescue’s new, state of the art, Mobile Command Centre (MCC) is on the road, and a formal dedication ceremony to celebrate this accomplishment is being held at Town Centre Firehall Saturday, November 19, 2016, from 1:00 until 3:00 pm.
One Saturday October 2nd, while 6 Coquitlam SAR members were assisting North Shore Rescue, we were notified by BC Ambulance of an injured hiker on the Diez Vistas trail near Buntzen Lake.
